From September 2025 to April 2026, our participants grappled with VexIQ “Mix and Match” – a game involving stacking pins and beams in a one-minute teamwork challenge.

We held two robot skills competitions between our eight teams, we participated in the global “Virtual Skills” challenge, and we submitted entries into the “Online Challenges” – including “Meme Your Team”.

“This meme is of a robot that was supposed to turn, but instead reversed, pushing all of the pin stacks into the stand-off goal – causing them to fall down on impact, creating a mess of pins we weren’t able to pick up.”

“This experience actually happened to us at our first robot skills competition – where we got the images from. As hilarious and disappointing as this experience was, it helped us learn the power of teamwork – for many reasons. Instead of quitting or moping around, we practiced and as a team worked out how to solve this problem to ensure it didn’t happen again. This resulted in us actually being able to reach our goal later that day. Next, our team realised we all have different talents – but each of them is important.”
