345Robotics to Represent Cayman at Vex World Robotics Competition in May
Community Invited to “Expo” Event/Showcase on 28/29 April, 2025
16 April 2025
George Town, Grand Cayman — 345Robotics is delighted to announce that, for the first time, the Cayman Islands will be amongst 54 countries participating in the Vex World Robotics Competition.
This event takes place in Dallas, Texas, from May 12 to 14.
345Robotics’ team will be the only Caymanian representation among the 50+ countries and hundreds of teams at the event.
Our team consists of eight members, ages 8 to 12, representing a cross section of primary schools.
Team places were earned through dedication and hard work.
Throughout the eight months, team members have designed, built, tested and coded their own robots to compete in the VexIQ Robotics Challenge called “Rapid Relay”.
In January and February, team members participated in two competitions in Florida.
During the past several weeks, the team has been refining a single competition robot that will be used to compete in Dallas.
The team members are: Nathan Abbott, Omya Arora, Brianna Atkinson, Kai Latif, Meeraa Muthumukar, Ava Stephano, Aaron Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez
Coaches/instructors: Brandon Ebanks and Kendra Okonski
We have worked in close partnership with the US based Robotics and Education Competition (REC) Foundation to facilitate participation in this year’s Rapid Relay competitions.
345Robotics is a registered Cayman Islands non-profit organisation. Our premiere sponsorship for the 2024-25 season (VexIQ “Rapid Relay”) has been through Enterprise Cayman, which has provided ongoing space at Signal House for our activities during weekends and during school holidays.
